I'm Dana, the founder of DaTrendStore. I'm a father of four, two of them daughters, and today I have four granddaughters. Every one of them loves to shop.
How it started
Whenever my grandkids came around, one of my favorite things to do was take them out to buy something new. My daughters love shopping too, especially my youngest. I spend a lot of time on my computer every day, and I started noticing how much women's and girls' clothing sells for compared with what it actually costs to make. So I started researching fashion markups, and what I found surprised me. The gap between what we pay and what the clothes cost is huge, and I realized there was room for a store that does things differently.
Why I thought I could do it
I spent more than 24 years in management. It wasn't fashion, but I figured that if I could run someone else's business, I could build my own. I took on the challenge, and in the first year I learned it was a lot more than I expected. The business side was familiar. The marketing, the advertising, building a customer base and keeping up with every platform's rules were all new. As a one-person business, I had to find a plan that worked for me.
Where we are now
I formed the company, took a pause to get the plan right, and now I'm back full time and all in for this holiday season. DaTrendStore is about trendy styles at fair prices, for women and girls of every size, from dresses and sets to accessories that finish the look.
Why it matters to me
My ultimate goal is to build something I can leave to my kids and grandkids. I also want to show that age doesn't have to hold anyone back. I started this journey at 50.
Thank you for shopping with us and being part of the story.
